that's the line i'm giving my friends and family nowadays.
those who know me well, understand that i have a deep passion for living overseas. whether that means london, istanbul or somewhere else, i can't wait to be overseas.
as hard as it may be to believe, i've NEVER actually been overseas. only in my dreams. only in my day dreams.
venezuela.
monday night i had a vivid dream about one such adventure. i don't remember the flight or how i got to venezuela. all i know is one day i packed up my bags, and went to venezuela for the weekend.my dream actually began as i'm standing in my hotel room. i remember being near the top of the hotel, can't remember which floor exactly, and looking out the windows at the beautiful landscape.
the hotel literally seemed surrounded by astounding beauty. i peered down through a window in my room, and i saw a deep green ocean. if i remember correctly, the air outside was dense and foggy. this created a perfectly scenic backdrop for the trees and mountains.
the mountains were far off in the distance, at least a few miles, by my estimation. just atop the lush, green mountains sat a thick, deep fog. it was absolutely breathtaking. there were also tall, sturdy, leafy trees in the distance that were confidently occupying the land.
i started thinking to myself: what am i doing up here in my hotel room? i could be down there exploring!
so, i went to the ground level of the hotel, and proceeded to join the people on the street. one interaction comes to mind.
as i started my journey down the street not knowing my destination or my surroundings, i was joined by a few rambuncious, yet sincere boys. they seemed fascinated with me, and yet they were very helpful, making me feel at home. they handed me a mango-like fruit, and i unwrapped it, and started to eat, just as they were doing.
goodbye venezuela.
