perhaps not worth a glance
or listening to
bitter tears and wasted words
i laid at your feet and walked away
my soul wearied and longed for the darkness
to hide and long no more for the day
but the sun rose again, shining forth faithfulness and compassion
for a little one and covered me with a smile
i never left your gaze, you never let my hand go
your word gave me hope, your song gave me life
your presence gave me shade, your kiss was a fine wine
questions remain unanswered and i don't know why
yet i will trust you, for i am yours and you are mine
